International Travel With a Book

A School Wide Theme

Helping our students to think globally is a basic goal for all educators. In their book Global Perspectives in Children’s Literature, Evelyn Freeman and Barbara Lehman stated that, “Our world is shrinking due to global communications and increased mobility.” The following global book list is designed for educators who have a desire to add International Literature to their Library shelves. Freeman and Lehman stated that, “Children’s literature about other cultures around the world is a way to bring people together, to travel the globe, to bridge our differences, and to rejoice in our common joys and triumphs.”
